This three-hour workshop is intended for clinicians interested in learning about ethical considerations in practicing gender-affirming mental health care with trans youth. Suitable for experienced clinicians and those new to gender-affirming care, this interactive training will incorporate didactic information, case examples, and clinician-led questions to build knowledge and explore ethical considerations. Participants will explore nuanced clinical scenarios involving young people (e.g., adolescents and young adults), their parents/consenting adults, and collaborating healthcare providers. Options for navigating common challenges, including local and federal laws restricting gender-affirming healthcare for minors, will be addressed.
